Healthy(ish) Rice Bubble Treat Recipe
I LOVE RICE BUBBLE TREATS!!!
Mars Bar Slice... Chocolate Rice Crackles.... LCM Bars... OMG DROOL!
But unfortunately the commercial versions come with a side of additives and nasties that just don't do us any favours :(
Check out these two simplified recipes! They are quick and easily adjustable to suit your dietary requirements.
**** Obviously this is a 'sometimes treat' and should enjoyed in moderation ****
CHOCOLATE RICE BUBBLE TREATS
Ingredients
- 4 cups rice bubbles
- ½ cup desiccated coconut
- 1 cup coconut oil
- ½ cup rice malt syrup
- 2 tablespoons cacao powder
- 200g 80% chocolate for melting (optional)
Instructions
- Line a slice baking tray with grease-proof paper.
- In a small saucepan stir wet ingredients on low heat for 5 mins.
- Combine wet & dry mixtures in a bowl.
- Place the mixture into the baking dish and press evenly into pan.
- Place in fridge for one hour.
- Melt chocolate and spread over top.
- Place back in fridge till set.
- Slice, seal and store in the freezer.
Best part about this recipe is the endless flavour combinations you try!

- Add your favourite protein powder...?
- Honey...
- Add dried fruit or nuts...
- NUTELLA if you're feeling super naughty....
- Almond or cashew butter....
- Peanut Butter (see below)
PEANUT BUTTER RICE BUBBLE TREATS
Ingredients
- 4 cups rice bubbles
- ½ cup desiccated coconut
- ½ cup coconut oil
- 1/3 cup rice malt syrup
- 1 cup natural peanut butter
- 200g 80% chocolate for melting (optional)
